I acquired some shipping pallets, for a couple of projects.
I haven't broken down pallets in years...

I was reminded of a few things.

1.No matter how hard you try. You will split a few boards.

2. There are different grades of pallets. Not all pallets are worth breaking down..

3. The right tool for the right job.

4. Ring shank nails SUCK....

5. Spirial shank nails are a joke..

6. Beware of REBUILT pallets...

That being said, if you need a source of distressed wood. Pallets are usually very cheep. With the right tools they are relatively ease to breakdown.
