    I think it is classed as a Semi Low Racer so low but no so low you can't use it on the street however not your first choice for racing ?

    Just never saw multiple cuts and welds as the TIG way - just me I suppose



    Hard to tell as my box does not tell you the weld current , however IIRC I had to buy 2mm tubing to get the...

    I think this idea has some merit IF yes there is always a IF ?

    I think this is more a MIG type solution as it needs quite a bit bit of welding/filler something not one of TIG's strong points ?

    Well we have a plan ......

    Cut the bit with the wheel dropouts about 1" past them towards the front.

    Use a piece of card and mark hub centre and BB centre [ about 15" apart ] then use that...

    Not thought of problems with the rings , although there is usually some offset on the rings ? something to look at though.

    So the rear of the front is now welded up and the wheel drop outs are welded giving 0.5" [ 12mm ] of clearance at the rear of the tyre:-

    Well I have tried with a box from a Tesco Finest baked tart oh err ?

    One piece 0.45mm approx ! is still a tight fit , 2 pieces gave some wiggle room ?

    No need to weld.

    Just cut one down to same length as another.

    Then file the inside of the cut end so it has a taper and is about 1/2 it's original thickness , about 1/4" depth should be enough....

    As the paper is incompressible ? it spaces the tab away from the main frame by .5mm [ 0.1mm x 5 ] whilst the tab is welded on ?

    Yep 3mm brackets , thickest I have.

    I shall cut a 1.5mm spacer and clamp both brackets up with it in and see where we are.

    We don't have ' show leather ' here :-( to cheap !!!

    Thanks that is excellent and your wheel is far better than both of mine !

    I notice you have the lock nut on the outside , mine are on the inside , must try that.

    So it was bearing change...
