    Re: Tour-ettes trike syndrome.

Dan, it's good to see the progress you are making!!
Are you planning indexed gear change? or friction?
I always use friction, but must admit when I run "front" derailreur behind my back (in the...

    Re: Finished! Finally!

Best way to handle it, is a double pulley - power side goes under pulley 1, return side goes above pulley 2.
Both pulleys run on the same shaft - common arrangement in recumbents.

    Re: Finished! Finally!

Second deraileur makes very little difference to performance.
You probably don't need it (I never needed it despite my bikes being longer than this one).

Pulley (bending chainline) will make some...

    Is the seat position fixed?
I found, as my riding experience increased, that I needed to change seat angle and position to get things just right...

Handlebar looks awkward to use? but it could be...

Re: Started my build, a few pics

    I like it!
both the bike and pictures :D
Looks like it has nice axle loading balance (50/50 or thereabout?).
If you get heel strike, you may want tob try shortened cranks - it transformed my...

Re: Started my build, a few pics

few links to pics... rather than few pics
I for one can't be arsed to open links - what's wrong with putting pics into the text like everybody else?

Re: front derailleur on wrong side

Simply swapping mech from right to left will not work.
The clamp suggested will not work either.
For it to work, you need "mirror image" deraileur mech not "rotated 180 deg" around (what would...

    Re: RPM tachometer, cadence meter

My biggest problem is old age :)
I could only see the dammed things with either bi-focals or varifocals... and not at all from any distance :(
Hence the desire for large display.
    Bright display...

    Re: RPM tachometer, cadence meter

    Re: RPM tachometer, cadence meter

    fail :)
The reason is simple - it is supposed to be cadence meter (i.e. rpm of crank axle)
Rear wheel rpm will depend on the gearing between crank and rear axle :D

£50-£100 is not what I had in...

    Re: RPM tachometer, cadence meter

Having said so... it would be far easier (and definitely preferable) to find electronic solution and keep things simple (KISS) with single magnet on the crank.
So - back to my original question :)...
