I decided to build this SpinCycle while I am still collecting parts for a StreetFox. So here it is.. one old girls bike with 16" wheels, two front wheels off a wheel chair, an arm/seat of a rowing machine and some scrap steel I had laying around. Still need to clean up and finish a couple things, but my 10 year old is having a ball on it.
For the mod, I wanted the ability of having an adjustable chain tension and reuse the original chain without altering it. I left the rear dropout alone and welded the front fork onto the top. I didn't even have to adjust the forks as they fit snugly between the dropouts.

Welcome to the fun Shadow.
Your 10 year old is going to be the envy of the neighborhood. Hope you can get it back long enough to paint it. Looks like the rims are over due.
Ed did experiment with a commercial solution that is supposedly biodegradable and water based that seem to work really well. See his stuff here:http://forum.atomiczombie.com/showthread.php/9523-Derusting-Parts-Experiment?highlight=rust+removal.

Anyway nice job, and thanks for sharing.

Love the wheelchair wheels. Sweet ride for the kid. I made mine for me, but the neighborhood kids and adults alike are regularly riding it. Funny how many adult neighbors came out of the woodwork when they saw me riding it, they wanted to ride to. Looking forward to your future projects
