Hi all

Has anyone built a SpinCycle by using the whole of the chain stays and dropouts of a BMX bicycle and then widening and slotting the front forks and weld them on the top ?

This way you could still adjust the chain tension ?

Both of Brads books show the rear dropouts being cut off and the rear chainstays being welded to the front of the forks.

We have started to collect the bits for an e-drift trike for my lad
.
This came from the tip as the basics for it . as the front wheel assembly is removable via 4 bolts we were going to fit a mini mtb rear end and an e-hub on the front and golf trolley smooth rear wheels

Like the seat and the frame shape should save a lot of work , does it have a proper headset ?

I have found most of the cheap <20" wheeled kids bikes now days only have plastic bushes.

I suppose most of them do less than 50 miles before they are scrapped or get into perverted our clutches

Big bolt through head tube with plastic bushes but hey when it breaks we fix it ,it was a terribly expensive trike . lt cost me a fiver :joker:. they are about 90- 140 BIN on ebay new

16" fixed front wheel , once modified it will allow a reasonable ground clearance with a 20" front e-wheel and batteries on the rear to help it slide a bit better

I have got a 16t Currie 24v 20" rear wheel with drum brake spare ( ex 20/20 ) to go on the front and a 36 v controller and SLA batteries waiting for a good home .
That should give 20mph derestricted at 6" off the ground , it will feel like 50 !!!!! road legal 15mph max but we will need to fit an additional front rim brake to use it on the road with inner tube sleeves on the smooth rear wheels

Seat will only need a back rest extension and a tube passed through the rear "axle" for the new wheels .
seats were also available on ebay T
The removed fixed pedal front wheel assembly would make a good front wheel for the pedalable wheelchair project. they are also offered on ebay .
