this youtube channel- Kirsten Dirksen has wonderful videos, mostly around alternative houses/building
the guy making the house in this video is a kayak maker.

i am posting about this clip here because he mentions the light but strong system of kayak building (although he doesnt cover it in the video, its about his house.) so i looked up what he mentioned and thought i would pass it along in case someone wanted to consider it for veloshell building.

basically its bamboo frame tied with sinew covered with ballistic nylon and a special urethane resin. the prices for the materials are very good as well.

Nice find, socialtalker. It looks like you could cover a velo with it pretty reasonably.

That's looks like a good link for me , as I can get stuff sent to me and I know what I'm getting!
Thanks for that one--could be the answer for me.

I may have posted about this already. I was straightening up my shop bulletin board, and noticed these.

They are sample pieces of landscaping fabric, (weed block). It's made of a fiberglass material, and is very light and quite strong.
The top piece is the natural color as purchased. I spray painted a couple of pieces to see what the result would be. They turned out quite well, though I will try other brighter colors.

I had planned (waaay back when) on possibly using this method on the T Bucket.
Some of my other designs, (future projects) will probably be using this method.

Thought someone may like the idea.
