How wide is the Kyoto and what is the max passenger weight? We are currently riding a tandem and the American Speedster's Sidekick (made of PVC pipe, max weight capacity 400 lbs) with 2 blind cyclists (one a teen, the other in his 50s or 60s), but there are potential blind cyclists in the area too heavy for the Sidekick, who don't feel their balance is good enough for the tandem.
There are plans to periodically have a line of metal posts across local trails to deter motorized vehicles. Other trails in the area already have them, spaced 35" apart, but fortunately the mayor is interested in our cause so new post spacing may be changed.

The Kyoto frame is 4 feet wide. I found this to be the minimum you could get away with before invading your partner's space with elbows.

The Kyoto will "safely" carry a LOT more weight than the PVC car! I will say 500 pounds just to be on the conservative side.
