I started a High Roller from the plans a year ago, completed the frame and let the project sit until now. My other projects are finished and I wish to complete the bike but want to change the front wheel from a 26" to a 20" (406) without changing the headtube angle ( I used the angle stated in the plans). The fork has very little offset and I would like advise on doing this and any possible problems with the steering and stability. THANKS

I would think that if the fork does have very little offset -- meaning very little trail, then the resulting handling might be on the "twitchy" side. It might take a bit of getting used to with time but I am sure it would not be impossible to ride. You'd just have to be a bit more alert to sudden changes as you ride...

THis is worth a read. You may get some ideas here. All good advice I have found.

I usually shoot for about 0.5 to 1 inch trail. I have too much on my low racer and it has a nasty "trying to tighten the turn" feel.
