View Full Version : Disk brake - front or Rear mount?

In shopping for "specials" on mechanical disk brakes... they come for either the front or the rear...apparently they are different mounts.

Is one or the other easier to work with ?

Nice find for weldable bits....

Most of them look like they are "Braze-on's" but with some care (and practice) they will work...

Fifteen bucks for that part is a bit steep. I made a cardboard template using the caliper for a guide to make mine from 1/4" steel. Or you could use Brad's method of welding tabs onto the frame. Here's how I made my template:
