I know must of us are riding this time of year but has anyone finished the Tomahawk yet? I'd like to hear about the ride characteristics and such......

I finished my Tomahawk a couple of weeks ago. I installed a friction drive setup with a 35cc Robin Subara 4 stroke motor. I have my seat in more of an upright position than what the plans called for. Just a personal preference. I also got a little bit of tire to shoe scrub when turning so I used shorter crank arms which took care of that problem. I ran the chain through a couple pieces of black hose that I used between the two pulleys to keep my pant legs from rubbing on the chain. All in all it was a fun build and rides very well with or without the motor.

I don't have a speedometer on this bike yet but the normal speeds on other bikes I've run with the R/S motors are around 28-30 MPH.

I've found that it's a litle bit harder than my High Roller to balance when first starting out pedaling. It's easier if I give it a little bit of throttle from the motor at the same time I start to pedal. Once moving I haven't had any problems with the handling.
