When welding thinwall tubing with a mig welder, is it better to push or pull the bead?

From my very limited personal experience, I haven't emptied my first tank of Argon / CO2 yet, coupled with what I've read pushing the puddle is best for thin wall. You don't get as much penetration so fewer burn through holes.

The way I as taught to MIG was simple, with stick you use the rod like a pencil and draw away from the starting point, ie RH will draw from left to right LH will draw from right to left. With MIG you push the pencil away from where you start, ie RH will push left, LH will push Right.

Only time this 'rule' changes is in the vertical position!
(until you know what you are doing and how to control the gun)
